Temporary Housing Officer
Maternity cover until mid-May 2019, Full-time (36.25 hours per week)
Our Housing Officer role is fast paced, varied and rewarding, which changes to reflect the community that we serve. With demonstrable experience in a customer facing role, you will thrive in a position that deals with the full range of tenancy requirements. This includes letting void properties, supporting tenants to sustain their tenancies and using a multi-agency approach to deal with complex ASB cases. Managing your time effectively, you will continuously and accurately obtain and record the correct information from all interactions with customers.
You will be managing a wide range of housing stock of approximately 500 properties including two high rise blocks. Experience of working in a similar position is essential and ideally you will have knowledge of relevant social housing legislation. You must have the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with our customers, many of which are vulnerable, and have complex needs. You will demonstrate exceptional problem solving independently and you will have a flexible approach to your work.
We strive to ensure that a support-based approach is used when dealing with our customers and experience in this area would be useful.
Good IT skills are essential and you must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car.
You’re good at:
- Customer support experience
- Demonstrating your excellent interpersonal skills and communicating to a range of people in a variety of ways
- Working remotely and making decisions independently
- Record keeping
