Quality Engineer

Not all superheroes wear capes; as a Quality Engineer, you’re a chief problem-solver, a motivator, and a stickler for detail.

And we need YOU to be a key driving force for our continuous improvement expertise, bringing Quality Engineer pedigree to the table in addition to a background in quality inspection.

You’ll be joining a specialist in the turnkey supply of complex finished parts from challenging materials, contributing to precision engineering output across the oil and gas, aerospace, nuclear, defence and industrial controls sectors.

Helander, in partnership with Recart, is looking for a Quality Engineer with at least three years’ experience in a precision engineering environment.

You’ll be qualified to at least HNC level in a relevant discipline, such as mechanical, manufacturing or production engineering. You’ll have a Six Sigma Green Belt and you’ll have received external auditor training.

Why Us?

This is a stable, permanent position packed with potential. Helander – a member of a €200 million pan-European group – was chosen for the highly sought-after £1.3 million government Strength in Growth investment scheme.

You’ll be joining a flagship business leading the drive to bring UK manufacturing skills up to a world-leading standard by 2022 – an employer that’s actively seeking to upskill and develop all employers to their full potential.

Our base? Whether you’re local or open to relocation, Tewkesbury is a busy, riverside market town that’s steeped in history and nestled close to rural areas and the Cotswolds. Close to the M5, there are good transport links to Gloucester and Bristol.

And your salary package... This will include 25 days’ holiday, salary sacrifice pension scheme, life assurance, half-pay sick pay for up to six weeks, long-service rewards, and free workwear and refreshments.

The Role

Building on your achievements as a Quality Engineer in reducing non-conformances and improving process times, you’ll be liaising closely with the shop floor, customers and suppliers.

Your experience – at least three years in a precision engineering environment – will include root cause analysis techniques, process failure modes effects analysis (PFMEA), and implementing effective metrics to support corrective actions.

Skilled in writing problem definitions and statements clearly and succinctly, you’ll be a confident communicator with proven attention to detail in a production/machining environment.

We’re looking for you to apply lessons learned in downstream processes to upstream design of processes, so preventative actions can be taken.

Additional duties include working from technical drawings, leading multi-disciplined teams, health and safety legislation conformance, and complying with security standards.

A typical week...? Reporting to the Quality Manager, you’ll be part of a team of five, working 7.30am to 4pm on Monday through to Thursday and a 7am-to-1pm Friday shift.

Interested?

Please apply with an up-to-date and tailored CV. We look forward to hearing from you.
