Design Coordinator

Based in Castle Donnington 2 months then St fergus for remainder on contract - Some flexibility will be available.

Not a design role but coordination of plans, reports meetings etc between the business and the design teams involved in developing the compressor stations.

I am currently recruiting for a design coordinator to work on site with our leading utilities client. Our client of going through a massive change in terms of the running of there current compressor stations so emissions meet government regulations by 2023. This role will entail liaising between the design team and the business and coordinating all aspects or the design stage. This is not a design role but coordination of plans, reports meetings etc between the business and the design teams involved in developing the compressor stations.

Day to day responsibilities

The Design Coordinator shall be responsible for the following:

  • Compliance with design related legislation, policy, procedures, and specifications as required by the contract
  • Implement and ensure that project design activities are undertaken in accordance with the Engineering Design Activity Schedule
  • Coordinate the Technical Query and Deviation process
  • Monitor quality and content of design appraisal pack submissions
  • Sample check that design documents are signed off as 'approved' by the appropriate Approver prior to appraisal
  • Support the Quality Adviser during the Design and audit activities
  • Support the Project Engineer with the review of project Red line and As-built Drawings
  • Interface with Quality Adviser on a monthly basis to ensure suitable design information is provided to facilitate production of the Process Safety Triangles
  • Provide monthly updates to the Quality Adviser for Hazards Removed through design
  • Review, comment and monitor the implementation of the Contractor's: Design Plan, Design Change Control procedure/register, Risk Register and Technical Risk Register
  • In consultation with the Adviser, review content and implementation of Contractors Temporary Works procedures, including ensuring that the Temporary Works Register is maintained and reviewed by competent engineers
  • Attend, where required, Formal Process Safety Assessments and Formal Environmental Assessments including closeout meetings
  • Ensuring that prior to the development of all Quantified Risk Assessments, the Asset Management Safety & Engineering Team has been consulted
  • Attend all Design Progress Meetings
  • Ensuring the availability of the designer's current drawing register throughout all phases of the project
  • Work with the Contract Design Manager to identify the requirement and implementation of Equipment Risk Assessments for sub-vendor packages
  • Ensure robust design change control processes and implemented throughout all phases of the work
  • Supporting the project in delivering accurate and timely design information to allow Commissioning, Operational and Asset Acceptance as handover records
  • Where requested by the Project Engineer, undertake Technical Inspection activities
  • Raise and submit observation reports
