Position: Mechanical Design Engineer

Opus Engineering are recruiting for a mechanical design engineer to work on a permanent basis for our client based in Bath. Our client designs and manufactures equipment/machinery which is installed globally. The successful engineer will join a small, passionate team of engineers and will be involved in the full life cycle of the design and manufacture of company equipment.

The successful engineer will join a small, passionate team of engineers and will be involved in the full life cycle of the design and manufacture of company equipment.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship/Degree.
- Develop new designs for company product range.
- Interpret customer requirements from sales order/specifications.
- Produce mechanical drawings, AutoCAD Inventor preferable but not essential.
- Creations of BOMs.
- Technical design calculations.
- Contribute to R&D activities of the company.
- Technical support for manufacturing/production departments.
- Mechanical Design experience ideally in equipment/special purpose machinery.
- A strong understanding of modern manufacturing processes and design for manufacture (DFM).
- Proficient Autodesk Inventor user, or other 3D modelling package eg SolidWorks.
- Computer Literate - MS Word/Excel.
