The company
This is a challenging and rewarding role working for family-owned
business which has been established for over 60 years. The business
specialises in growing, packing and distributing a variety of products
for major supermarkets as well as independent retailers, wholesalers and
foodservice.
The job
Within a fast-paced farming environment, the Farm Manager is responsible
for the planting, growing and harvesting of the crops, managing efficient
growing and harvesting schedules, managing and training all farm staff,
control of all related costs, reporting on farm performance, managing
effective relationships with landowners plus ordering and managing all
required equipment and machinery. Within a small, dynamic team of Farm
Technicians you would be expected to manage the farming network given the
supply expectations of the head office.
Your experience
You will be able to demonstrate a strong farm management track record,
preferably within salads and brassica. You will have extensive knowledge
of spraying techniques and processes - ideally qualified in PA3, BASIS,
FACTS etc. You will also be an experienced people manager, have excellent
relationship building skills plus be positive with a can-do attitude.
