Teacher of Chemistry

We are seeking a recent chemistry or related science graduate to undertake a paid internship at our innovative all-girls boarding school.

This post would suit someone considering teaching as a career, or wishing to combine work and travel, or wishing to expand their skillset before starting in industry. This is an excellent opportunity to live and work in a supportive and inspiring community, nurturing young scientists.

The main responsibilities will include teaching chemistry, working with small groups and individuals, and running co-curricular enrichment activities. There will be the chance to accompany school trips in the UK and abroad. Single accommodation may be available in exchange for some boarding duties.

Benenden is at the forefront of girls’ education in the UK, with recent innovations including the Benenden Diploma, a bespoke curriculum for our youngest two year groups, and the Professional Skills Programme, teaching the Sixth Form skills for the workplace. We are an ambitious school, with recent developments including a state-of-the-art Science Centre and All-Weather Sports Pitch, and we are currently working to establish a new School Hall and Music School.
