Financial Analyst. Our client, a successful manufacturing business in Peterborough, part of a major international group, is currently recruiting for a Financial Analyst on a permanent basis.

Salary Range: £33,000 to £42,000
Benefits: 10% Annual bonus, 25 Days Annual Leave, Contributory Pension Scheme, Company Share Purchase Scheme. Study Support (if applicable), Child Care Vouchers & Retail Discounts.

You will work within the Sales Support finance team. The main focus of this role is the departmental expense incurred by the Sales and Marketing team, which totals circa $100M per year. This is an area of the business that is strongly focused on growth, and a key part of this role is ensuring that the allocation of departmental spend supports those growth opportunities.

The role supports a global function, and costs originate from multiple legal entities using a variety of accounting systems, making this a challenging role. The role also provides analysis to the Consolidations team and the Corporate Accounting team.

The main responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to;

* Monthly Reporting & analysis of Departmental spend for the Sales Directors and their teams
* Business partnering with the Sales team throughout monthly reporting and forecasting cycles, and providing ad hoc analysis and advice as required
* Provision of Monthly analysis versus plan and prior year to Corporate Accounting
* Monthly headcount reporting
* Legal entity close activities - Journals and pre-close analysis
* Ensuring correct accounting treatment for transactions - monitoring pre-payments and accruals
* Co-ordination of the Annual Planning process for the Sales and Marketing team
* Co-ordinating the quarterly forecasting process for Sales and Marketing spend
* Provision of departmental spend reporting for 2 key business initiatives driving sales growth (monitoring incremental spend value and allocation)

Required skills:

* Previous accounting experience Strong analytical skills, ability to take a detailed data set and provide summarised, meaningful analysis
* Confident in communications and presentation skills
* Good team player - interpersonal skills are imperative, as the role consolidates data from multiple sources and reports to a diverse customer group
* Part to Fully Qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA

Desired Skills:

* MS Excel and Access Skills
* Prior experience of business partnering
* Prior experience of budgeting and forecasting
