Staff Nurse

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the qualified Staff Nurse will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients.

This full-time role is 37.5 hours a week on a rota basis which includes nights.

Person Specification

• First Level Registered Nurse
• Effective listening and interpersonal skills
• Experience or further education in Palliative Care
• Excellent time management skills

Staff Nurse Duties

• Co-ordinating safe admissions and discharges
• Maintaining Hospice records and supporting bereaved families
• Communicating with patients, relatives, carers, external agencies
• Providing high quality nursing care to patients with complex needs
• Safeguarding patients and staff, following policies and procedures

About St David’s Hospice

St David’s Hospice is a registered charity that provides palliative care to adult patients in North West Wales. We aim to improve the lives of those with terminal or life-limiting illnesses, taking care of their physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs.

The successful Nurse will work in our Llandudno hospice, which has 14 beds, a Day Care Unit, and rooms for families to stay. It’s a home-from-home, where each patient receives a tailor-made package of individual care.
