What it’s about

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Global Payroll Controller to join our friendly, established and supportive payroll team based in Cambridge.  As Global Payroll Controller, alongside all UK payroll activity and administration, you will also have overall responsibility for global payroll processing in 25 countries, working with Partners to ensure all contractual and legislative compliances are met. You will also manage the overseas payroll vendor management as well as assisting the organisation in their overseas expansion, providing valuable advice on areas such as new entity set up and changes to business registrations.

You will have a confident, positive, "can-do" attitude with good organisational skills and a willingness to provide expertise and leadership to the payroll team and wider business.

What you’ll be doing

Responsibility for Payroll Processing in 25 countries:

  • Manage payroll risk to prevent fraud.
  • Ensure payrolls are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Ensure payroll contractual and legislative compliance.
  • Ensure operational best practice is implemented.
  • Monitor payroll accuracy and implement remedial actions.
  • Payroll responsible and initial point of contact for internal and external auditors.

Responsibility for Global Pension Reporting and Regulatory Compliance

  • Overall accountability for the staff pension processing, payment, and reporting compliance.

Global Payroll Expansion

  • Assist with overseas expansion activities including: investigations, new entities set ups, changes in business registrations and providing technical payroll advice to the wider business.
  • Manage new payroll implementations through to BAU transition and perform project improvement reviews.

Overseas Payroll Vendor Management

  • Vendor account management monitoring and enforcing KPI and SLAs.
  • Manage continuous process improvement, data quality, and suitability of reporting functionality.
  • Managing payroll system change requests with vendor, negotiating costs and managing implementation.

What we’re looking for

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification from a payroll recognised body or qualified by experience

Skills

  • A good understanding of overseas legislation relating to payroll and pensions.
  • The ability to lead and motivate a team based in the UK and work closely with advisors overseas.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • You must be able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines as well as be able to manage your own time effectively.
  • Business and financial awareness.

Experience

  • Previous experience of managing a multinational payroll department.
  • Staff management.
  • Managing multiple vendor accounts.

Desirable:

Experience in the following:

  • ADP Freedom
  • ADP Run
  • activpayroll activ8 solution

Behaviours
