Our client is a Further Education College offering a wide range of courses to over 5000 full time students and over 5650 part time students each year. The college currently works with over 50 high school partners, welcoming students from Bury and the surrounding areas.

In addition to over 900 students progressing to university from the College, 200 students choose to study a Higher Level course available at their University Centre each year.

Joining them as a Work Placement Officer (Cadets), you will support the positive placement and progress of College Cadets and contribute pro-actively to ensure all students have a positive experience and timely achievement rates.  This a part time (18.5 hours), term time only role.

Identifying, researching and liaising with companies and organisations to secure quality work experience placement opportunities for College Cadets, you will arrange placements for Cadets on a rotational basis and represent the College in dealings with the placement provider and to overcome any barriers. 

Providing ongoing support, review and evaluation for companies to identify the progress of Cadets on the work placement, you must undertake health & safety checks for the premises of employers working with Bury College Cadets and ensure student compliance with DBS, uniform and vaccination requirements and health & safety procedures are followed.

Candidates for this role should have a level 3 qualification in Care (or equivalent) and experience of delivering services to meet targets, outputs, deadlines and quality standards.  With recent industrial experience (within the last 3 years) working in a relevant occupational setting, you will ideally have experience of working in an education or training environment and be capable of using Microsoft office programmes and email.  A qualification in Work Experience Placement Risk Assessments (IOSH) (or a willingness to work towards within 12 months of confirmed start date) is required.
