Fowey River Academy is a very hard working secondary school that sets
high standards and expectations for staff and children. We are looking
for a new Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our existing team. This
contract is for a talented colleague committed to the safeguarding of
our staff and pupils.
We need an experienced practitioner to lead in setting the strategic
direction in relation to safeguarding by maintaining a current
knowledge of and taking into account local, national and legal
guidance. We need someone who can develop, implement, maintain and
evaluate policies and guidance and ensure these are up to date,
legally compliant and shared as appropriate. This person will need to
ensure that policies and procedures regarding safeguarding, child
protection and attendance are followed robustly within the school.
They will be the school's designated safeguarding lead and as such
will need to be able to work sympathetically with families whilst
acting in the best interest of the children and their need for
academic development and overall welfare.
