We are the UK and Ireland's leading distributor of planed strength graded softwood and engineered wood products with over 40 staff and a turnover of €150m. We are setting up a new office in close proximity to the Port of Wicklow to oversee our Irish business. We are part of Södra Group, the largest forest-owner association in Sweden.

The Trainee Sales Manager Opportunity:

Reporting to the Sales Manager - Ireland the Trainee Sales Manager will be required deliver sales targets for Ireland through strong relationships and service to our current and new customers in the region.

Key Objectives

+ Build quality relationships with key contacts in our Irish business
+ Ensure that SWUK Ireland obtains and maintains preferred supplier status to all its targeted customers
+ Help achieve the budgeted sales volume/value with the Irish customer base.
+ Resolve any customer issues or queries and escalate their resolution where necessary.
+ Manage the forecasting, identification and sales of overstock, old and quarantined stock.
+ Liaise with terminal operatives and Head Office to ensure quick and efficient operations.

Accountabilities:

+ Maintain regular telephone contact with the customer base.
+ Ensure all call-offs are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
+ Resolve any customer issues in a timely fashion
+ Be aware of and promote the full range of products and services offered by SWUK Ireland.
+ Work with terminal operatives to constantly improve on-site haulage and treatment efficiency.
+ Monitor stock movements and trends to aid in regular forecasts in conjunction with the Head Office Operations team.
+ Work with the Head Office Credit Control team to ensure all payments are within agreed terms. 
+ General administration tasks as needed across the department and business

Required Education & Experience:

+ Educated to Leaving Certificate standard as a minimum with a degree or Further Education qualification desirable
+ Good coordinator and administrator
+ Able to balance business targets with the daily demands and fluctuation in workload
+ Good Microsoft Office/Excel and IT skills including relevant social media platforms

+ Confident and outgoing person, able to use own initiative and work hard to achieve personal and company targets
+ Constant drive to see and realise sales opportunities
+ Diligent, accurate with good attention to detail
+ Numerate and able to analyse figures/data
+ A desire to develop personally and have the ambition to build a successful career
+ A positive “can do” attitude even when under pressure and working to tight deadlines
+ Team player, happy to support their colleagues and work with other departments to ensure projects are completed on time
+ Excellent at building customer relationships on the phone
+ Flexible to travel for meetings and training

Salary Package:

+ Salary: €20-30,000 pa depending upon experience 
+ Hours of work: 40 per week, 8am – 5pm with 1 hour for lunch
+ Holidays: 25 days per year plus 8 statutory holidays
+ Performance bonus: Annual payments dependent upon company and individual performance
+ Contributory pension scheme:Generous company contribution
+ Other generous benefits such as health and dental cover
