CNC Machinist - Workshop Technician/Engineer
Borehamwood
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and proficient Machinist to join a market-leading Medical Devices manufacturer. Reporting to the Workshop Team Leader, you will be responsible for the manufacture of medical devices and the associated instrumentation.
Purpose of the Role:
You will be responsible for the manufacturer of patient specific medical devices as well as the associated instrumentation and tooling, to the tolerances specified on both standard and customary components using manual lathes, milling machines and CNC. The role will be working on both prototypes of new products as well as 'off the shelf' existing product ranges. You will also be working strict safety protocols and regulations, using appropriate safety equipment and complying with all QA/QC procedures and working instructions.
Key Tasks:

Manufacture of medical device components and associated instrumentation and tooling

Working within specified tolerances and engineering standards
-
Using precision measured equipment in the manufactured environment

Meeting dispatch date deadlines

Working within safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment

To work well both as an individual and as part of a team

Maintain, adjust, repair and clean workshop equipment and machinery as required

Proficiency in manual machining and use of lathes, mills and grinders
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
-
A time served apprenticeship within Engineering = relevant to the role

A good working knowledge of milling machines and centre lathes; both manual and CNC as well as a good working knowledge of cylindrical grinding and surface grinding

Qualified to BTEC in Engineering would be ideal, with a minimum of C&G
-
The ability to lead and mentor colleagues and team members to ensure the highest standard of product delivery
