Job Description
We are seeking a talented individual for a well established business that prides itself on delivering exceptional customer service.
The company is a successful manufacturer which produces both own brand products and private label products. This is all managed through a network of well established 3rd party subcontracting partners, globally located.
Reporting to the Production Planner, the key day to day tasks will include, but not limited to :
Ensuring the flow of goods from one point to the other is smooth. Ensuring that the procedure and cycle through which goods pass is well-coordinated from the origin to the destination. In other words responsible for goods reaching their destination in the required condition and time.
Generate works orders and suppliers orders to meet the requirements of the production schedule
Expediting/rescheduling of purchase orders and works order
Responsible for registering received goods. Maintaining the ERP system
Responsible for managing customs declarations of imported goods, maintaining import records and verifying that all import transactions comply with HMRC regulations.
Preparing shipping instructions
Resolving of invoice queries from suppliers
Become an integral contributor to the weekly Sales and Operational Planning meeting.
Liaising directly with suppliers and subcontractors in order to ensure a positive 2 way flow of information. This will require a solid working relationship with key sub contractors and transportation companies used to move goods between sites.
Track delivery progress of shipments.
Negotiate and arrange transport of goods with shipping or freight companies.
The Candidate
Key attributes include, but not limited to :
Strong relevant experience, at least 5 years working in Supply Chain environment
Experience of ERP systems required. Knowledge of SAGE ERP X3 system would be a distinct advantage
Strong administrative skills
Excellent IT skills, in particular EXCEL and other MS packages
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, and have strong data analysis, problem solving and decision making ability
Demonstrated ability to work with all organisational levels and work effectively in a team environment, with strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with sub contractors and suppliers
Ability to function with a strong sense of urgency, self confidence, and comfortable with rapidly changing situations Work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision, performing end-to-end supply chain activities
