Nicholas Howard is looking for an experienced, knowledgeable Head of Secured Recoveries on a FTC of up to 12 months to cover Maternity Leave. The role will involve working within a highly successful Debt Recovery Litigation firm based in Manchester and in a company that is fully regulated and athorised by the FCA and SRA. The main purpose of the role is to lead, manage and develop Team Managers and their associated teams whilst undertaking activity in secured litigation and arrears management and to ensure all direct reports are providing a professional and high standard of service to customers and clients. In addition, the successful candidate will manage the day to day relationships with key clients and be responsible for any requests and monthly/quarterly performance reviews including audits. The scope of this role includes oversight and improvement in efficiency, quality and service delivery performance in all operational areas, along with supporting business growth. The Role The successful candidate must have a strong knowledge of Secured Recoveries and Mortgage Servicing. Take ownership for ensuring the strategies of portfolios managed are mapped and maintained to evidence that the actions of the firm Treat Customers Fairly. Act as a point of escalation for any issues raised in relation to management effectiveness, team performance or client feedback, ensuring that corrective actions and preventative controls are embedded to prevent repeat issues occurring. Performance to be delivered in line with agreed targets working in line with budgetary requirements To manage and review operating systems and processes for the relevant tasks related to all direct reports identifying improvements whether system driven or strategic To provide training, support and guidance to staff and direct reports in achieving targets and meeting objectives. To identify training and development needs for all direct reports Participate in the recruitment, interviewing process and selection of new personnel in line with budgeted allowances as required Work effectively as part of the management team representing the business internally and externally in a professional manner at all times Oversee and support the secured portfolio manager assisting with client requests and requirements as and when required ensuring that mutually beneficial and commercially viable solutions are identified to satisfy client needs. To liaise with external 3rd parties and clients as required ensuring activities undertaken on behalf of the company are handled in a professional manner, protecting the interests of the business Seek guidance, advice and support from the Conduct and Risk Team in relation to any changes, risks or issues, in particular where there is a customer impact or indication of potential or possible customer detriment. The appointed candidate will be required to undertake a successful Credit Reference and a CRB Disclosure check.
