Senior Care Assistant
We have a chance for the right person to join a rapidly expanding home care service in North West Bristol as a Senior Care Assistant. This service is run by a friendly management team who believe that showing care and support to their workers is the only way to ensure that they want to provide quality care and support to their clients. The team often socialise together outside of working hours, and recently they held one of their team meetings at a carer's house enjoying a barbeque together.
The owner of the business decided to enter the care industry after having a positive experience with a home care service that supported her mother. She valued the confidence she had in her mother's carers, and wants her service to enable older people to live independent lives in their own homes with the dignity, quality support and companionship they deserve. By joining this service, you would become a core part of a team who put the needs of their service users first, and strive for excellent care that focuses on individual's needs.
You are passionate about supporting older people in their own homes and will be willing to spend your days travelling from client to client providing quality care and support. Ideally, you will have experience dealing with vulnerable people and the compassion to build strong professional relationships with individuals with a variety of needs. This service is looking for individuals who have experience in care and feel ready to dedicate themselves long term to building trusting relationships with older service users who live in their own homes in the North Bristol area. Experience with dementia is desirable, but you will be provided with an extensive training programme.
You will spend a minimum of 45 minutes which each service user, and the team organise visits to ensure that there is ample time to travel from door to door. This service prioritises quality of care. You will be comfortable providing personal care, light domestic duties, and helping with shopping and medication and with assisting users out in the community. Visits take place between 7am and 2pm, and 4pm and 10pm. You will use a mobile phone app to record important information in clients care plans. You will be supported by a Registered Manager who has over 24 years of experience and really invests in her team. You will be encouraged to develop as a carer and to pursue further care qualifications.
