Working under the umbrella of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) Animal & Plant Health Agency (APHA) is the government agency that takes responsibility for keeping the nation safe from any animal diseases. You will play a key role in assisting the People Lead in activities for Science Directorate comprising of Scientist, administrators, storekeepers, researchers, laboratory staff, managers and experts
Working with other colleagues in the Science Strategy and Planning department, you will provide a high quality service in planning, organising, booking and setting up both bespoke and Civil Service Learning courses, ensuring the events are run smoothly. Maintain calendars of events, use Sharepoint, Excel and Oracle SOP. You will also assist in recruitment exercises such as entering details to the recruitment system, keep track of applications, book rooms, meet candidates and assist vacancy holders. You will be expected to carry out other administrative duties for the department, managers, and senior staff.
