Sales Ledger / Credit Controller / Accounts Assistant

Flowers Associates are pleased to be working with a family ran market leading manufacturing business in the heart of Leicester. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with 2-3 years accountancy experience to work within a fast-paced environment and learn form a hands-on Financial Controller.

The successful candidate will have a confident approach and first-class communication skills. You must be prepared to go beyond the call of duty and be hands-on with other duties within the accounts team. There will be requirements at month end to work as a team and ensure deadlines are met.

Responsibilities:

Full ownership of the sales ledger

Maintaining, processing and submitting project valuations and raising associated invoices

Credit control including the retention ledger, monitoring debtors ensuring all receipts are received within terms

Resolving queries to ensure customers pay in a timely manner

Develop processes to support the smooth running of the commercial ledger

Bank reconciliation and banking

Closing the sales ledger in line with the monthly timetable and producing related reports

Working closely with the Project Managers and Quantity Surveyor

Maintaining the filing system / scanning

Supporting the department with any other tasks and functions to run a smooth accounting function e.g. Annual Stock Valuation

The ideal candidate:

2-3 experience in a similar position

Accuracy and attention to detail

Experience of Sage (preferred), Excel, Outlook and Word

Ability to work to monthly deadlines

Adaptable, flexible, team player and self-motivated

Outstanding organisational, planning, problem solving and prioritisation skills

A "can do" attitude with the ability to hit the ground running

The ability to build relationships and not afraid of challenging the status quo

Strong communication and the ability to liaise with internal & external departments
