We are seeking a personable & pro-active, part-qualified/qualified Accountant, with commercial experience in the manufacturing sector, to join an international firm, based on the outskirts of Reading.
The ideal candidate will be part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualified (or of course qualified by experience) and have experience dealing with inventories, product costing/variance analysis and producing management accounts.
Joining a friendly and supportive team on a fixed-term, contract basis (initially 6 months) with the possibility of extension being offered thereafter, you will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for:
* Assisting the Financial Controller with the implementation of Long Term Contract Accounting.
* Assisting the Finance Administrator with the maintenance of Purchase Ledger - Obtaining correct authorisation for Supplier invoices, resolution of queries and preparing Supplier payments.
* Assisting the Finance Administrator with the maintenance of Sales Ledger - contacting customers to obtain payment dates, resolution of customer queries.
* Assisting the Finance Administrator or Financial Controller in support of ad-hoc projects and account reconciliations.
Skills & Experience Sought:
* Part Qualified Accountant preferred (ACCA, CIMA).
* Experienced in using computerised Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger & General Ledger packages.
* Recent previous experience in a similar position within Manufacturing/FMCG
* Intermediate/Advanced level user of Excel.
* Ability to communicate with staff from all levels within the business and with external customers and suppliers.
Hours of work: 8AM - 4.30PM, Monday to Thursday & 8AM - 1PM on Fridays
Hourly rate: GBP12-GBP15, depending upon experience
