Sheffield Central Dementia Cafe, Group Support Volunteer

What's involved

You will be part of a volunteer and staff team that welcomes people to our Central Dementia caf?? in Sheffield. You will help with refreshments, spend time with people attending the caf?? and assisting our staff with all aspects of delivering the Central Dementia Caf??. The Central Dementia Caf?? meets once a month on Friday and you will need to be available from 9.30 - 1pm.

This role will suit you if you are....

Committed, reliable and friendly. The role involves supporting people with dementia and their carers so good communication/listening skills and patience are essential.

This role will suit you if you are willing to learn about dementia and its impact on people affected by dementia by completing training relevant to the role.

The impact you will make....

You will support people with dementia and their carers to maintain and build relationships with others in their community. Your support will help to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.
