A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Shared Legal Service Team  to become a Property Lawyer based in Bury St Edmunds! You will join our team on a full time, permanent basis with a competitive starting salary of £36,153 - £37,107 per annum depending on qualifications/experience (potentially rising to £41,846 per annum through annual Performance Review awards) plus excellent benefits package!

Four district level councils’ in Suffolk have come together to create a single legal team, working across the County, providing innovative and solutions focused legal service to the four councils (Babergh & Mid Suffolk District Councils’, St Edmundsbury Borough Council and Forest Heath District Council)  

The Property Lawyer Role

The Shared Legal Service team provides high quality legal advice across several areas of law to include property, planning, commercial and litigation/licensing advice. 

As a Property Lawyer, you will be supporting the Service Manager and the Business Partners whilst providing advice to officers and members on statute, case law and policy in all aspects of property law to include commercial leases, acquisitions, sales and shared ownership.

Our ideal Property Lawyer:

- A qualified solicitor, fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives or barrister with experience of working in a busy legal office. 

- ‘Can do’ attitude

- Will enjoy working as part of a team, sharing professional knowledge and learning.

-  Will have the ability to identify and exploit creative solutions and to inspire others, and lead and motivate staff.
