Salary:              Circa £23,000 pa depending on experience

We are looking for an energetic self-starter to become part of our marketing team.  As our Communications Executive you’ll be involved in high profile projects, attracting investors and visitors to Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.  In return we offer work/life balance operating flexi-time, a competitive salary, workplace pension and a modern city centre office environment. 

We are the official Place Marketing Organisation for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire responsible for delivering a unified brand and narrative for the area. We are the agency charged with growing the local economy through encouraging inward investment, attracting business and leisure visitors, maximising student retention whilst aligning with the local business community.  We are a not for profit organisation funded by a combination of private monies through membership and grants, and by local authorities including Nottingham City Council.

Job Purpose:

  1. Support the Marketing & Communications Manager in the smooth day to day running of Marketing NG’s (MNG) Communications and PR department
  2. Raise the corporate profile of MNG
  3. Increase profile of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire as a place to invest, visit, work and study
  4. Maximise PR opportunities, securing maximum media coverage for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire


  1. In conjunction with the Marketing & Communications Manager, input into the master communications/PR plan and run the corporate/place brand social media channels. Carefully creating and monitoring messages
  2. Manage the MNG stakeholder database and distribute relevant and timely messages
  3. Proactively source and create positive stories and messages for communication on behalf of MNG to B2C and B2B audiences. Copy-write press releases, create blogs, stakeholder emails and online content
  4. Work with the marketing team to create content for and assist with the editing of the MNG suite of websites
  5. Manage the newsroom pages of the website including all journalist resources - press packs, Flickr etc
  6. Stimulate and organise journalists visits across all areas of the business, including inward investment and tourism. Assist with the nurturing of journalist relationships to maximise opportunities. Maintain and develop the media contacts database
  7. Represent MNG in positive media interviews about marketing projects and local visitor economy activities including radio
  8. Help organise and participate in company events, ensuring maximum coverage including online/social
  9. Organise and admin the photo and image library.  Keep it up to date and explore opportunities to add to it across all areas of the business. Ensure all credits and copyrights are adhered to and recorded
  10. Collate and produce the Communications team updates for the board
  11. Collate and record media coverage and its value using the specialist software subscribed to
  12. To work flexibly in time and duties; contributing to all the activities of Marketing Nottingham & Nottinghamshire which may include working outside normal working hours for particular events and activities and to carry out any other duties as may be required by the company from time to time.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
