Raven is a Housing Association with 6,500 homes across East Surrey and Sussex. We build homes for those whose housing needs are not met in the standard market and in doing so we help them change their lives. Our work goes far beyond that of a traditional landlord and extends into support for individuals and their communities. We are also a growing and increasingly complex social business with a turnover of £48m, and capital spends on building new homes of over £50m.

As a Welfare Reform Officer, you will support residents in moving onto Universal Credit and ensuring their rent is paid in advance or payment plans are agreed. The focus of the role is on the prevention of arrears cases and early intervention. You will work closely with our Financial Inclusion Officers, Income Officers, and customers to assess vulnerability, set up appropriate payment methods, and liaise with other agencies.

You may also be required to support residents affected by other aspects of welfare reform as and when they arise and will be responsible for reporting on the effect of Universal Credit in the business. With a proactive approach, you will deliver against clear targets and have high personal standards. You will also be measured against Raven’s aims and values.

The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge and understanding of
Welfare Reform legislation, particularly around Universal Credit; and have a background in Financial Inclusion, Income Management, or Housing Management. You will have the ability to build relationships with partner agencies, work as part of a team and understand the need for Raven income collection priorities as well as income maximisation for the resident.

Company Benefits:
-Holiday entitlement of 27 days per annum plus bank holidays
-Pension scheme with Raven contribution of up to 10%
-Flexible Benefits Scheme including Level 1 of Health Cash Plan funded by Raven
-Opportunity to work from home as appropriate

Closing date: 29th July 2018.
Interview dates: From 3rd August 2018.
