Salary:  Grade 1B SCP 8 £15,108 pro rata (unqualified); Grade 1C SCP 9 £15210 pro rata (qualified to Level 3 in Learning Support, Level 2 Literacy & Numeracy); Grade 2A SCP 12 £17,184 pro rata (qualified to level 3 in Learning Support, Level 2 Literacy & Numeracy, additional higher level relevant support qualification/s)

Stoke on Trent College is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide in-class support for students with a range of additional learning needs, either on a one to one basis or in small groups, you’ll help to develop their literacy, numeracy and study skills and in doing so raise their retention and achievement levels. You’ll need to adopt a flexible approach to your work and you’ll need to maintain accurate progress records and reports as you support students in achieving their learning goals and life ambitions.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people aged 14+ and/or practical vocational experience, good IT Skills and excellent communication skills.

Based in Stoke on Trent with easy transport links to the North West, West Midlands and East Midlands, Stoke on Trent College is the largest provider of further education in Stoke and North Staffordshire, with around 10,000 students each year on full-time and part-time study programmes, apprenticeships, professional qualifications and university-level courses.
