Do you hold a degree in Physics with a minimum 2:2 degree classification?
Are you looking to train as a Physics Teacher in the future and would like to gain as much experience in a classroom prior to starting that teacher training as a Teaching Assistant?
Do you have experience of working with and supporting young people in or outside of the classroom?
Are you passionate about raising attainment in science as well as promoting the subject as a Teaching Assistant?

My client school, based in the heart of Birmingham, is looking to recruit a high achieving Physics graduate to work as a Teaching Assistant in their science and maths department. The school is an average sized secondary school with pupils aged between the 11 and 18; it has a fantastic reputation of achievement in the local catchment area and is always over-subscribed.
The successful Teaching Assistant will spend the majority of their time working with GCSE pupils in Physics but there will be a requirement to work with A Level classes, depending on the demands of the curriculum. Due to the subjects on the curriculum it is essential that your degree will be in, or centred on, Physics or maths. Knowledge of additional sciences on top of your specialism will of course be put to good use in the department as will a sound understanding of Mathematical principles. If you're degree is in Chemistry and you have strong A Levels at Maths and Physics the school may still consider your application.
This really is a varied role and requires patience, understanding and a desire to get the best out of all the pupils' you're in contact with. Flexibility and hard work really is the key to becoming a successful Learning Support Assistant.
Your experiences in the classroom can be put to excellent use both in practical terms during your teacher training and also in support of your PGCE application.
