Steelwork Buyer

Our client is a long standing and very successful steelwork
fabrication company based in South Yorkshire. They specialize in the
fabrication and supply of architectural and structural steelwork as
well as the supply of other associated construction materials.

They now require a Steelwork Buyer:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working as a
buyer, preferably within the steelwork fabrication business or a
general construction materials business.

Knowledge of a wide range of materials such as steelwork, cladding,
timber, glass etc would be an advantage, but having sound commercial
awareness is key to this position, ensuring the best prices are
obtained and materials ordered on time.

You will also be expected to purchase and maintain items for the
workshop and general office purchasing too.

An excellent telephone manner is essential along with a very good
understanding of general Microsoft software applications, word, excel
etc.

Candidates that have very good steelwork experience maybe as an
estimator or similar will also be considered with full training in
purchasing available.
