Our client is a premium supplier of high integrity forged products to quality markets globally. They have created a fully integrated metals service centre which has grown to be a leading provider of open-die quality forgings, making safety critical components in service conditions from the deepest oceans to outer space. Their flexibility and scale of operations means that they can provide both highly specialised “one-off” forgings as well as volume production.

They now have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Manager to join the Quality team in Hillsborough.

Reporting to the Quality Director, you will be responsible for assisting the Quality Director with the development of the company quality system and the day to day management of the effectiveness of the quality system to AS9100 standard. You will also assist the Quality Director in ensuring that products and services meet customer needs and expectations to fulfil company quality objectives and create and sustain a culture that is based on continuous improvement within the company.

You will be directly responsible for managing the Quality department that also includes certification, NDT and inspection. You will both manage the internal auditing system and be responsible for visiting customer auditors. You will perform supplier quality assurance audits for assigned suppliers and develop corrective actions to support supplier problems and failures, suggesting modifications and corrective actions by suppliers to meet customer specifications and standards.

In order to be successful in this role, it is essential that you have a working knowledge of national and international quality standards including ISO9001 and AS9100. You should also have effective Root Cause Analysis skills, excellent decision-making skills and excellent organisational skills.

Working knowledge of auditing, Nadcap Heat treatment and Pyrometry and Nadcap material testing and NDT are required. Working knowledge of Excel and Word and an understanding of material specifications is also important and experience in working in a forging environment would be ideal.
