Delivering Excellent Services and Strong Communities

Octavia was founded by the social reformer Octavia Hill over 150 years ago with the mission of providing affordable homes in inner London. Today we own and manage almost 5,000 homes in the heart of London where land values are high and affordable housing is scarce. We have a strong sense of purpose and a drive to create an organisation that residents really value.

The Building Services team is responsible for all aspects of mechanical and electrical (M&E) management of our properties, and for the promotion and development of a culture of energy conservation and affordability across our entire housing portfolio.

As Building Services Manager you will lead a small team providing M&E support across Octavia. It will be your responsibility to oversee all aspects of mechanical and electrical work on our property assets, covering the delivery of M&E repairs, Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Planned Major Works ensuring that Octavia meets its legal obligations with regard to M&E property management and it’s environmental and energy strategies. You will also take ownership of management tasks such as programme reporting, budget management and review of our strategies. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to make a real difference as well as influencing Octavia’s goal to be the best at getting better.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate experience in the maintenance of buildings, specifically in relation to M&E, and related tasks as well as managing a team. You will hold a professional qualification in an energy or related area with membership of a relevant body such as the Institute or Energy or the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineer or similar. A natural problem solver, you will have excellent leadership skills and will be confident at communicating with people at all levels. Ideally you will be familiar with working in the housing sector but this is not essential.

Closing date for receipt of applications will be (midnight) Sunday 5th August 2018.

Octavia is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
