Ebor Academy Trust is a multi-academy trust serving children aged 2 to 16. It is our aspiration to develop geographical hubs of schools that share our values.

Lakeside Primary School is a bright, modern primary school that opened in 1991 and has a strong family ethos, creating a positive climate for learning. We are now looking for a School Caretaker to join our friendly team where you will work Monday – Friday, 5 hours per day (split between morning and evening). We are open to job share, and can offer additional hours periodically to cover our other sites. If the interested candidate wanted to undertake basic maintenance work as well, this would be welcomed.

As a Caretaker, you will ensure that the school’s buildings and grounds are in proper working order, maintaining a safe working environment for all users of the facility. Carrying out minor repairs and reporting any faults which require specialist help, you will maintain the grounds and ensure the premises are clean and rubbish is collected. The role also involves being responsible for the security of the buildings, carrying out security checks and ensuring all fire safety and health and safety regulations are adhered to.

We are looking for someone who has good DIY skills and a knowledge of the basic maintenance required for school premises. With a good level of practical skills in areas such as buildings and grounds maintenance, manual handling techniques, safe use of power tools and electrical safety, you will also have an understanding of the safeguarding of children.

A flexible person who can work to deadlines, you will be able to communicate well with children, school staff and visitors, and will have the ability to work to deadlines and on your own initiative.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing Trust that offers staff development opportunities across it’s staff, including facilities team members.

25 hours per week Monday – Friday, term time only
