One of our aims is to ‘deliver high quality homes and services for our customers’ and we’re recruiting for a Fleet / Transport Technician to help manage our fleet of vehicles so that we can achieve this aim.

We are looking for someone who has experience of the mechanical maintenance of commercial vehicles both Light Commercial & Heavy Commercial and who has undertaken vehicle inspection work and minor repairs. With this in mind, we’ll need you to hold an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repairs (or equivalent).

In this busy and varied role, you’ll undertake a lot of administrative work too, so experience in fleet administration and the ability to plan your own workload to achieve deadlines are essential.

You’ll come into contact with a variety of different colleagues, every day, so the ability to communicate with people at all levels is a must.

Health and safety is key here at whg, so we’ll need you to be vigilant and have a good understanding of health and safety legislation, particularly in relation to driving at work. We’re also looking for someone who has an understanding of tachograph systems, and who holds a Driver Qualification Card (CPC), and full UK Drivers Licence (minimum category C1).

Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work flexibly, which may include working outside of normal office hours, to ensure the demands of the business are met.
