External Sales Executive

Remote based

Mansfield, Nottingham

Our prestigious client, with over 175 years trading experience and a nationwide network of branches, is seeking to strengthen their operation with the addition of an experienced “hungry“ Sales Executive. The branch network supplies timber and building materials to all parts of the construction industry, both private and commercial, and have dedicated manufacturing divisions supplying specialist windows, doors and timber engineering services. You may be a Sales Representative from a timber building merchants background or even from the supply side and you will have a passion for sales. Your role as Sales Executive will contribute to the groups focus on providing market leading choice, quality, service and value. As the External Sales Executive, working from a designated branch, you will cover a geographical area where customers and potential customers are based. Your area knowledge will be vast and you will be well aware of potential opportunities on your “patch”.

Key Responsibilities – Sales Executive:

  • Achieve total GP £'s in accordance with budget
  • Achieve total sales volume in accordance with budget
  • Ensure call rate achieved in accordance with company guidance
  • Attend weekly meetings with Branch Manager to plan actions
  • Keep Outlook calendar updated at all times
  • Agree all customers with Branch Manager / Area Manager
  • Route and plan calls effectively to cover territory
  • Prepare calls to ensure they are currently balanced between existing clients and prospects
  • Credit worthiness of clients to be passed on to credit control and Branch Manager
  • Ensure quotations are confirmed to the branch and customer
  • Attend company and manufacturers training courses when required
  • Ensure company car is kept in good condition at all times

Sales Executive – Personal Specification:

  • Good market knowledge of sector
  • A thorough understanding of all Company products and services
  • A portfolio of clients would be a distinct advantage
  • Proven sales experience, preferably within the timber and builders merchant industry
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Well presented at all times

You may currently be working as a sales executive, sales person, building supplies representative, sales representative, Business Development Manager or sales rep.
