Our client is an independently run family company that for over 50 years has been supplying a wide range of electrical components solely to the electrical wholesale trade. They are currently looking for a motivated individual to join a dedicated team as Purchasing Manager. You will become a key member of the group, being entrusted with and having responsibility for the company’s purchasing activities. With a mind towards ensuring consistently highlevels of customer service, as well as being the company’s supplier-facing point of contact, your remit will be both internal and external in nature.

Duties Include:

• Ensuring stock-outs remain low whilst keeping stock holdings to reasonable levels;
• Travelling internationally as required and building direct relationships between the company and its supplier base;
• Placing repeat orders with all the company’s foreign and domestic suppliers;
• Working with and finessing the computer systems which assist the purchasing role;
• Sourcing new suppliers for both new and existing product lines;
• Liaising with suppliers when product issues arise; and
• Working with and bettering the company’s existing procurement channels.

• Commercial aptitude
• A logical and problem solving mind

Ideally you will have worked:

• For an electrical components manufacturer / importer
• Within a purchasing role
• In a role which involves meeting suppliers internationally.

The following qualifications would be desirable but not essential:

• Technical/electrical engineering training
• Quality Control knowledge
