·Note – this role will be working 12 hour shifts (days and nights) on a fixed rotating pattern covering 7 days per week, this includes weekend nights.

·Carry out complex quality control tests and analysis to ensure the product complies with established specifications

·Carry out testing and quality control of products in accordance with cGMP and GLP, identifying and recording anomalous observations.

·Interpret results and make recommendations for immediate and appropriate action liaising closely with Quality engineering, Production and Quality assurance.

·Prepare SOP's and associated documents for existing procedures.

·Operate QC testing equipment or carry out manual operations.

·Maintain operational environments.

·Maintain control charts for trend analysis. Understand principles of Statistical process control (SPC) and the uses of such systems.

·Participate in quality improvement initiatives and in associated implementation teams.

The ideal candidate will have:

·HNC or degree in a science-based subject or be able to demonstrate equivalent scientific knowledge/ laboratory experience.

·Demonstrated experience in a biomedical laboratory.

·Experience in the use of Microsoft computer packages, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel are essential

·Theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of blood grouping, antigen/antibody reactivity and antibody titrations.
