The C&D Group are acting as an employment business in regards to this
role based in West Swindon.
Our client in Swindon are currently looking for a Wet Paint & Powder
Coating Operative to join them on a temp - perm basis.
Working Hours:
08:00-16:15 Mon-Thurs and 08:00-15:00 on Fridays.
Job Description:
To achieve specific targets as directed by the Manufacturing &
Operations Manager whilst ensuring a high quality of product
throughout so that the customers' expectations and the company's
financial standards are met or exceeded.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for painting items to the correct standard (including
all preparation and finishing)
* The ideal candidate will have experience in Lean processes & 5s
* Adhere to procedures or systems in place for risk assessment,
COSHH, personal protective equipment and other relevant safety
regulations and procedures to realise a safe system of work
* Advising and maintain a safe working environment for the finishing
activities
* Obtain the correct tools and equipment for the activity and
checking that they are in a safe and usable condition and within
current calibration date
* Ensuring that the quality of their work is to the required
standard
* Ensure the paint and spraying equipment is correctly prepared for
the finishing operations
* Clean all tools and equipment on completion of the finishing
activities
* Return all tools and equipment to the correct location on
completion of the activities
* Leave the work area and components in a safe and appropriate
condition, free from foreign object debris on completion of the
activities
* Ensuring the standard of housekeeping in the paint shop is
maintained to a high level
* Following of paint shop procedures
* Active involvement in any improvement initiatives that are
connected with the paint shop
* Ensuring supervision / management is aware of any quality problems
or equipment failure
* Continual focus on operational cost reduction
* Train other team members as required.
* Treat all work colleagues with respect.
* Maintain a neat and tidy work area.
* Standard of work will be conducted in a manner that creates a
sense of teamwork.
* Department Systems and Procedures will be adhered to.
* Punctuality will be of the highest importance.
* Forms will be completed in accordance with company procedures.
* Fittings will be produced to a high standard at all times.
* Perform any other appropriate tasks as requested by the
Manufacturing Manager.
* Ensure Health and Safety Procedures are met within the work area.
Key Conditions:
You will carry out the duties and responsibilities specified above,
and such other reasonable duties assigned from time to time by the
Company, irrespective of job title, job description and job status.
Your Job Description may be reviewed and updated from time to time to
take into account reasonable changes made to the job role.
You will be trained, and use, new technology as it is introduced to
the Company.
You are required to wear a uniform which must be kept in good
condition and returned to your manager when you leave the Company's
employment.
In the discharge of your duties, you will observe and comply with all
reasonable directions made or given by Company Management.
