Empowering Learning are currently looking out for Teaching Assistants with experience working with special educational needs & disabilities. Experience in a special school setting would be preferred but not essential. This position is due to start in September and will be an on going position for the foreseeable future.
The school provides places for children with an Educational Health Care Plan which states specialist support and an outreach service to the city, which offers a service to pupils and their families. Providing a welcoming environment to the community, the school helps support their pupils to reach their full potential. Within the school all achievements are valued and celebrated to boost pupils confidence and morale.
Within the role of a Teaching Assistant your duties will consist of the following:
- Provide support to the teacher whenever needed
- Delivering small or 1:1 work with specific children within the class
- Being involved in preparation and planning for lessons
- Attending morning and after school briefings
- Providing feedback on specific individuals the teacher has you to work with
- Promote school ethos at all times in a professional manner

- Worked in a special school environment (desirable)
