Job Title: Apprentice Facilities Administrator – Estates & Reception / 37hr week

Salary Range points per hour:  

  • 18-20 yrs = £5.90
  • 21-24 yrs = £7.38
  • 25 + yrs = £7.83

Calderdale College is the largest provider of further education (post-16) courses, work-based learning (Apprenticeships) and the sole provider of higher education awards in Calderdale, and currently in the top 5% of College’s in the UK for 16-18 student success. 

We are seeking to appoint an Apprentice Administrator to join our successful team, responsible for providing support to the Estates and Facilities department and reception team. The Facilities Administrator will be trained and supported to achieve a Business Administration Apprentice qualification. Duties include, ensuring information systems including the estates helpdesk are accurately maintained, word processing of letters, memos, e-mails and other documents, collating information, producing reports, taking meeting minutes, covering reception, receiving phone calls and other administrative duties as the post requires.

The post holder must be able to work as part of a team, be self-motivated, possess excellent customer service, communication, time management and organisational skills, with a ‘can do’ approach and a determination to succeed and see problems through to a solution.

Key qualities sought:

  • Computer literacy and good typing skills
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise work to achieve deadlines
  • An evident ‘positive’ and ‘can do’ attitude to strengthen the Colleges’ culture and values of integrity, respect, openness, fairness, high expectation and enjoyment
  • A good standard of education including level 2 Literacy and Numeracy
