LOCATION: Chesterfield, South Yorkshire (will cover projects in and around South Yorkshire and
Derbyshire)
JOB TITLE: Construction Manager / Residential Housing Project Manager
SALARY & BENEFITS: Excellent salary plus benefits including generous pension and mileage
allowance
WORKING HOURS: Full Time - Flexible Hours considered for the right candidate
THE COMPANY: Our client is a family owned and run company which has been building quality
homes from traditional materials for almost 100 years. Based in Chesterfield in Derbyshire, the
company concentrates on providing homes within South Yorkshire and the East Midlands. Each
site is specifically designed by commissioned architects so that each development enjoys its own
distinctive character and now seek an experienced Construction Manager / Residential Housing
Project Manager with experience in speculative residential developments and good technical /
legislative knowledge to join their existing team.
THE ROLE: Due to retirement our client now require an experienced and knowledgeable
Construction Manager / Residential Housing Project Manager. This senior position encompasses
management, technical, quantity surveying and purchasing aspects thereby combining a variety of
activities with total responsibility for the building operations. You will see oversee and run projects
on new residential builds from procurement of land, inception and all the way through to
completion.
THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Construction Manager / Residential Housing
Project Manager position must have proven ability and hands on experience of speculative
residential house building from inception to completion, but must also have suitable experience
speculative residential developments and also have good legislative knowledge within
construction and excellent Health & Safety knowledge. You should be someone who can work
with little or no supervision and ensure projects are managed in an efficient way to meet
deadlines and set high standards. Candidates must have a valid UK Driving licence and must be
within commutable distance to Chesterfield, South Yorkshire and Derbyshire areas as will be
working on projects within this remit.
Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Construction Manager / Residential Housing
Project Managers role:-
- Proven hands on experience as a Construction Manager, Senior Site Manager or similar role in residential house building essential
- Must have good technical knowledge and experience in speculative residential house developments
- Applicants must have good Health & Safety and related legislative knowledge
- Must be effective at Project and People Management
- Must have a valid UK Driving Licence, live within commutable distance to Chesterfield and be able to work in and around South Yorkshire & Derbyshire
