The Role:

The Business Resilience Lead will be responsible for the continued development, implementation and management of NGNs approach to both Business Continuity and Security in line with NGNs Strategic Business Objectives.

Additionally, the role will act as liaison with key internal and external stakeholders to manage and report resilience related risks, considering both current and future risks and potential consequences.The role will provide guidance and support in the implementation of appropriate proactive and reactive mitigations including short, medium and long term strategy development and integration of resilience risks into investment strategies consistent with NGNs overall approach to risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall governance and direction setting for Business Continuity and Security in NGN
  • Ensure Policies, Frameworks, Strategies and Risk Methodologies support NGNs Objectives and conform to company, industry and international best practice where applicable
  • Support NGN in conducting appropriate business impact analysis to identify and assess internal and external BCM and Security related threats and the potential risk they pose to NGN
  • Manage consultation with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure NGN implements appropriate mitigation for existing and emerging risks to business resilience
  • Ensure risks are escalated to senior internal stakeholders as appropriate
  • Ensure the timely closure of actions / audit findings as appropriate
  • Provide expertise and analysis to internal stakeholders to support the development of asset investment decision making, strategy development and business planning
  • Undertake the role of Technical Authority Level (TAL) for relevant documents as defined by the Technical Standards Steering Group
  • Deliver reporting of appropriate BCM and Security performance measures

Expertise, knowledge and experience required

Essential:

  • Educated to Degree Level or Equivalent in a relevant field - preferably with a Business component and high level of numeracy
  • Previous post-graduation experience in a relevant industry
  • Experience of Project and Process Management / Delivery
  • Experience of dealing with Senior Management
  • Risk Management knowledge and experience
  • Experience of managing external clients/relations
  • Knowledge of Business Continuity & Security Principles
  • Gas Industry Knowledge

Desirable

  • Business Continuity Management Accreditation
  • Security Management Accreditation
  • Counter Terrorism Clearance
  • Team / People Management experience
  • Full UK driving license

The Package

  • Permanent Personal Contract
  • 40 hours per week
  • Up to £40,000 per annum negotiable dependent on experience
  • Up to 10% bonus dependent upon performance objectives
