Teaching Assistant / LSA Needed for a Large Primary School Based in Ebbw Vale
TeacherActive are working with a large primary school in Ebbw Vale to find an outstanding Teaching Assistant / LSA to promote the quick paced learning abilities of their pupils. The role will primarily involve supporting the class teacher with the daily running of the classroom, ensuring a safe, fun environment; as well as assisting the pupils with their education and learning. The school has a fantastic reputation for providing great support to its pupils and staff; thus, a positive work ethic from the individual is essential.
The position will take place every afternoon (12:00 - 15:30), 5 days a week, running through until July 2019. The school have asked for consistency for the Year 1 class, and so the successful candidate must not have any further commitments during this time period. Furthermore, you would be expected to work closely with pupils on either a 1:1 basis, or in small groups. It is essential you demonstrate a strong ability to use your own initiative, build good relationships and ultimately, establish positive behaviours for learning. The position will be starting in September 2018, with almost certainly a trial day prior to the starting date.
When working within a Primary School setting, it is essential you pay full attention to the pupils at all time, ensure their safety is always priority as well as their progression within education. This role would be perfect for an individual thinking about getting into full-time education, or need advance experience to apply for a PGCE qualification.
The successful candidate will have to have the following:
*Very good reading, writing and numeracy skills.
*Minimum of 6 months experience of working in a KS1 classroom environment.
*Good organisational and communication skills.
*The ability to build positive relationships with both staff and pupils.
