The department Dentons' Global Employment and Labor Group includes over 200 lawyers, spread across our offices, who regularly represent management in connection with employment and benefits related litigation, corporate and governmental investigations, executive compensation and counseling projects. Purpose of role The team has a number of established employer clients such as Virgin Atlantic and Network Rail. The focus of the department is on stand alone employment law work but the team also provides support to the corporate, construction and real estate departments. The Employment department has strong links with the Employment department in our London office. However, Milton Keynes acts independently, on a day to day basis. This is a great opportunity for the right person to make a difference and develop their career. Suitable candidates will be interested in actively working to grow and develop the business. First rate communication skills are essential as is the ability to work effectively and constructively within a close team. Experience of the local market may be an advantage. Ideally the candidate will be 3-6 PQE. Responsibilities You will take a supporting role on a variety of transactions across a range of sectors Build and maintain client relationships Advise on day to day employment law issues for a variety of clients Act in the defence of employment tribunal litigation Contribute to business development and speak at conferences Contribute to thought leadership and raise the profile of the firm externally Required experience, skills and attributes The successful candidate will ideally have experience of: ??Most, if not all, aspects of pure employment work e.g. running employment tribunal claims, advising on grievances ??Advising on TUPE, outsourcing agreements ??Employment support work e.g. drafting the employment section of due diligence reports ??Corporate immigration matters ??Some High Court experience ??Client seminars and training ??This role would be suitable for those looking to build on their current experience and to take a leading role with responsibility for drafting and negotiations.
