Graduate Geotechnical Engineer - Newcastle Upon Tyne

My client, a leading global multi-disciplinary Consultancy, is seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join their team, based near Newcastle Upon Tyne.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to complete Ground Investigations, perform in-situ testing and sampling on a variety of projects.

Candidates are required to have a strong degree in a relevant discipline including Geology, Civil Engineering or similar. Having a MSc in a geotechnical field would be advantageous, but is not essential.

As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Visiting sites to monitor and collect data
• Data interpretation and analysis
• Soil and Rock Logging in accordance with current standards
• Assisting in Ground Investigations of superficial deposits and bedrock
• Conducting in-situ testing and sampling
• Liaising with colleagues and suppliers
• Keeping accurate records
• Report writing

Full training will be provided, and there are excellent developmental opportunities.

The successful candidate will be organised and self-motivated, be adaptable with a 'hands on' approach and be a great team player as well as being capable of working on your own initiative.

In order to be considered for this role, candidates must have knowledge of Ground Investigation techniques, and an interest in field work.

Relevant industry experience would be desirable, but is not required.

Having a CSCS card and a First Aid certificate would be advantageous.

As the successful candidate would be required to visit sites away from the office, candidates must have a clean UK driver's licence.
