Role overview:

The Company are an international humanitarian aid charity, which aims to relieve the suffering of poor and needy people across the world. Our growth plans are ambitious and to help achieve them, we are recruiting a Copywriter to promote the work of the charity through various on and off line channels. This role will be responsible for the content and quality of features within publications and articles for the company. Copy-writing needs to be engaging and in line with company marketing and public affairs objectives. Strong editing, structure and layout skills are essential.

Key Accountabilities

  • Pro-actively maintain the company's marketing presence, including, but not limited to;
  • Email bulletins/invitations.
  • Websites - content, updates, reciprocal links, branding, social media, partnership site content.
  • Research - conduct research as and when requested.
  • Overseeing the layout, appearance and content of feature articles.
  • Editorial content creation.
  • Generating ideas for features with writing staff.
  • Pro-actively assist with the planning of content as required.
  • PR - draft and release appropriate press releases.
  • Proofreading - editorials, press releases and literature.
  • Work as part of the Marketing team in a flexible manner, within reasonable time constraints as directed by managers.
  • Ensure through the proactive use of research techniques timely and relevant information is sent to the Marketing Manager to enable them to respond to current or future issues that impact on the company.
  • Ensure through proactive research that the material contained within articles and press releases, on websites and company documentation is kept up to date and reflects both current and future information.
  • Ability to make decisions and prioritise workload in order to determine which may have a significant impact on the company.
  • Must have good attention to detail and be able to proof read efficiently.
  • Key to this role is the ability to multi-task effectively in order to meet deadlines.
  • Effective reporting skills including collation of PR clippings and organisation information.
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact and cooperate with all employees.
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships.
  • Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships.
  • Knowledge of Islamic financial matters (Zakat, Wakf, Qurbanietc.) is an advantage.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Diploma
  • Copy-writing: 1 year
