Trainee Earthing Design Technician

A.N. Wallis & Co Ltd are a leading UK based Designer, Manufacturer and Supplier of Lightning Protection and Power Earthing Products. Established in 1946, Wallis have grown steadily throughout our core markets of the UK, Middle East and South East Asia.  We are in a phase of worldwide growth with an annual revenue of £30m.

As part of this growth, Wallis are looking for a talented Trainee Design Technician to join the Company’s Technical Services team. This team designs earth electrode and lightning protection systems for clients worldwide in varying industries such as Electrical Transmission and Distribution, Rail, Renewable Generation, Petrochemical, Nuclear etc.

Working out of our Nottingham office with a possibility of some international travel if desired, your duties will ultimately include:-

 

  • Onsite soil resistivity data acquisition
  • Liaising with customers on site
  • Providing technical support to the rest of the Company
  • Repairing and maintaining test equipment
  • Basic report writing
  • Preparation of Health & Safety documentation

Essential requirements

  • Hold A-levels in Science and Maths or ONC in Electrical Engineering
  • Be computer literate (All Microsoft office packages)
  • Have an eye for detail
  • Hold a full clean driving license
  • Be capable of passing a Network Rail Medical/Drugs & Alcohol screening
  • Be completely conversant in spoken and written English
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Willing to learn
  • Willing to work away from home as and when required.
