I am currently working with a blue-chip manufacturing business who supply into a range of industries, including O&G. They are looking to set up a new business unit for the bespoke manufacture of industrial products and as a result they are looking to recruit an experienced Supplier Development Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and audit internal compliance to procedures and policies of the business Supply Chain function in line with current working practices and standards
  • Ensure consistent and thorough assessment of all new suppliers
  • Monitor, report and communicate supplier performance internally and externally
  • Ensure all third-party suppliers act ethically and with integrity and adhere to the relevant requirements and standards of the business
  • Work with all involved to identify the key risks in the supply chain
  • Plan, carry out and document all supplier risk assessments, audits and visits
  • Ensure all non-conforming material is recorded and reported accurately
  • Support third party suppliers to achieve agreed continuous improvement objectives
  • Drive the development of specifications and test methodologies
  • Ensure alignment and adherence between the company and all third-party suppliers

Personal Specification:

  • Ideally educated in Engineering, Business Administration or a related Technical Qualification
  • Experience in Supplier Development, Supply Chain or QA in a Manufacturing / Engineering environment
  • Project Management experience
  • Ability to lead and work as part of multi-functional teams
  • Experience in the use of problem solving tools and analytics
  • Good knowledge of ISO standards and Lean principles
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel as required
