My client primary school is located in South Birmingham. The school, being a two form entry, is relatively large and is home to pupils between the ages of 5 and 11. The school has an ethos of 'Every child matters' with the inspirational Headteacher championing this at every opportunity. The school has a lovely atmosphere which stems from their warm and caring teaching staff and from pupils who seem to genuinely enjoy their time at the school.

The school are looking to take on a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join them from September on a long term, full time (during term time) basis. The position is in one of their Year 6 classes, supporting pupils as they prepare for their SATS

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be tasked with helping the resident class teacher across a range of subjects. You will have a well-rounded education so you can provide help and support to the pupils' regardless of the current topic. Candidates with degrees in English or Mathematics will be well received as they are in the best position to help with numeracy and literacy.

Everyday as a Teaching Assistant is different, it is essential that candidates are very organised, patient, understanding and able to tailor their support to the needs of the individual. At times, you will be working with the class a whole plus additional support in small groups.
