Due to a busy order book and a very successful 2017 CoorsTek in Crewe are expanding and have a vacancy for a grinder/Machinist/ Setter in our ceramic machining process. If you've had experience of precision grinding in a quality focussed and flexible environment and enjoy a challenge, then we'd like to hear from you.
People rarely have experience with Ceramics - so we are looking for someone with experience of milling and/or turning components in various materials that has a flexible and inquisitive approach. Training on machining high-spec and very hard-wearing technical ceramics will be provided and salary is dependent on experience and qualifications

Main Duties and Responsibilities- Machinist/ Setter (Engineering) - Crewe, Cheshire
- Operate complex grinding equipment and/or a variety of production equipment to manufacture parts in compliance with work order instructions; makes machine adjustments and contacts appropriate person when needed
- Inspect parts to determine if product meets quality/ customer specifications; takes appropriate action concerning parts that are not to customer/quality standards and recommends solutions to appropriate person
- Transfer parts to next process via computer software
- Load, unload and stack product; transports product via hand-truck, trolley etc
- Clean work area, machines, tools and equipment
- Train incoming operators on processes and procedures
- Must have previous experience of setting / operating milling machines/lathes Essential
- Read/interpret imperial & metric measurements and ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Use of handheld measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, drop gauges
- Have attained a recognised apprenticeship in Manual Machining would be desirable
- Previous experience of manufacturing a wide variety of materials would be advantageous
