Technical Account Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this highly motivated and dynamic team, based in Frome, Somerset, as a customer facing Technical Account Manager / vITD (Virtual IT Director)

This position offers a unique opportunity to work together with a team of in house solutions experts and key client stakeholders on a daily basis, Account Directors evaluate IT infrastructure, identify risks, research and present IT solutions to bring about improvements in business efficiency and growth.

You will essentially act as an account manager to a dedicated list of companies and perform as an outsourced IT Director, helping the heads of their client's business, so a desire and excitement to learn and understand a vast array of business types and needs is key.

Key Responsibilities:

- Attend quarterly business reviews and board level business strategy meetings with client decision makers
- Oversee all technology operations (e. network security) and evaluate them according to established internal processes and tool sets
- Devise and establish information policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by their clients' senior management
- Assist stakeholders in identification, implementation and management of 3rd part vendor line of business applications and technologies
- Analyse the business requirements of all departments and overall businesses to determine their information technology needs
- Make efficient and cost-effective technological proposals for infrastructure and software platform adoption
- Inspect the use of technological equipment and software solutions to ensure alignment to best practice, functionality and efficiency. Identifying the need for upgrades, reconfiguration or new systems
- Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems
- Act as the senior account contact for the client within the business and take full accountability for service and solutions delivered to the client
- Develop, present, and control client information technology budget
- Assist in building relationships with technology vendors and creating cost-efficient solutions

To qualify:

- Proven experience as IT manager, 3rd line engineer or similar role (5+ years)
- Proven problem solving and analytical skills
- Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
- Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
- Experience in controlling information technology budget
- Strong communication skills and an ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms
- Able to identify and interpret business needs and requirements
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA would be a plus.
