Job description:
- Provide alpha generative data analysis insights to our European commodities trading teams
- Help find new data sources, which will then be cleaned, processed and presented to our teams in a constructive visual manner
- Assist in developing and maintaining current supply & demand balance across certain specific commodities markets
- Develop sophisticated models to forecast future commodity prices
- Systematize and automate analysis process in order to increase desk efficiency and workload execution
Required skills and experience:
- Educated to PhD / post-doctorate level in either: Maths, physics or statistics
- Deep understanding of programing languages, Python and R being essential
- Experience with data modelling
- Ability to implement machine-learning techniques to improve data insights
- Ideally has some commodities analysis experience / expertise
- Ability to apply advanced data science techniques within a commercial framework to enhance profitability outcomes
- Excellent math skills including calculus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills applicable to a dynamic environment
- Experience in creating presentations in MS PowerPoint and delivering them
