This council are the lead authority for a shared ICT Service with the Borough Council of Wellingborough. This dynamic partnership service is responsible for driving the development and supporting ICT for both authorities, with this post at the helm of that service.

You will be an accomplished technical Systems Engineer working within a small team of dedicated ICT professionals located across both sites (Wellingborough and Thrapston) reporting to the ICT Business Support Manager. You will be the responsible for 2nd and 3rd line technical support escalated from the service desk.

You'll be involved in a number of technical projects aimed at continuing to ensure the ICT infrastructure serves the councils, making both networks more resilient, secure and robust as it continues a move to our remote central datacentre over an MPLS network.

The successful candidate will have hold a computer science or related subject degree and be able to demonstrate strong technical experience across the board and especially, but not limited to,
- Citrix administration and configuration (XenApp, XenDesktop and Remote Access)
- Security - Kaspersky, Zscaler
- Configuring network switches, routers, WAP, firewalls
- Network administration in a mixed Microsoft/Unix/ Linux environment
- Virtualisation (Hyper-V)

You will have a proactive attitude with a commitment to providing a quality service. You will need to be highly customer-focused with the ability to deliver support and projects, under an ITIL Framework, in a bustling and busy environment.
