Cats Protection (CP) is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity. We now help around 190,000 cats and kittens through our network of over 250 volunteer-run branches and 34 adoption centres and homing centres.

We are looking for a strong candidate to join our Neutering team on a part time, fixed term contract for up to 12 months. The main purpose of the Neutering Support Advisor role is to support and facilitate the smooth running of the charity’s neutering programme and provide assistance to the public, CP staff and volunteers and external customers.

Key responsibilities include responding to enquiries from the general public requesting financial support and advice on the neutering of pets and capture and care of ferals; inputting requests for vouchers, assessing the owner’s means and sending out individual vouchers where an owner qualifies for assistance; providing non-clinical neutering-related advice alongside; responding to initial neutering scheme enquiries (including first contacts) by telephone, letter and email from internal and external partners: CP branches, adoption centres, volunteers, veterinary professionals, advocate charities, and local authorities and using standard protocols and guidance to resolve these and refer complex or contentious issues to the Team Supervisor or Neutering Manager as appropriate.

We are looking for someone with skills and experience that include experience of call handling and making outgoing calls, Microsoft Office skills and experience using databases; excellent telephone manner and good interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative, accurately and under pressure.

Please note that the role is based at the National Cat Centre in the Ashdown Forest and you will need your own transport or car share to get here.
